Identify- Readers of the Daily Mail will easily identify with he right-wing content of the Daily Mail as they share very similar values. On the other hand, the Guardian readers can easily identify with the left wing content in their papers.
Educate- The Daily Mail supplies its readers with gossip and tabloid style news whereas the Guardian is more focused on educating its readers on the latest major political and economical news.
Entertain- Due to it containing a majority of celebrity tabloid stories the Daily Mail is easily able to provide its audience demographic with interesting and satisfying stories. The readers of the Guardian are entertained by learning of valuable knowledge about some of the biggest current problems in the world.
Social interaction- The gossip stories in the Daily Mail allow for conversations between readers whilst in the Guardian the readers ae able to discuss their views on the problems that are mentioned in the paper.
