Old Spice

Old spice is an american grooming brand who produce a variety of different grooming products for men. Originally, when the brand was first made in 1937 its consumer audience were women but they soon converted to a male consumer audience. Old spice has become exclusive for men, with them providing a variety of products including:
-antiperspirant and deodorant
-body spray
-body wash and bar
-fragrance
-shampoo
All of the Old spice products have varying prices depending on the retailer they are purchased from. The target audience of the Old spice product would be male audiences of varying ages, however the advert itself is targeting the female audience who have a male partner, enticing them to buy the product for their male partner. In doing so, they are allowing for their product to engage with a very wide audience. The main representation in this advert is that men who smell of Old spice immediately become more attractive to women, as the man wearing the advert is able to do amazing things such as produce diamonds from his hand, therefore he would be attractive to a female audience. The purpose of this representation is for women to want their man to look like Isaiah Mustafa in the advert, therefore they would want to purchase Old spice. The use of an attractive male in the advert makes the advert extremely appealing to the target audience of females over 18 years old, as they are immediately physically attracted to Isaiah Mustafa. I believe the advert to be successful as it's use of comedy and physical attraction makes it easily watchable for any audience and therefore enticing to the audience.

Lucozade

Lucozade is a soft drink manufactured by the Japanese company Suntory, which contains glucose thats provides energy so that people can participate in sport. First introduced in 1927, its original purpose was as a medicine to provide energy to the sick. In 1983 it was transformed into a sports drink so that it could appeal to wider audiences. The Lucozade drink has come in many different flavours over the years, with orange being the main stayer over time. The common market price for a standard 500ml bottle of Lucozade Sport is about £0.99 dependent on where it is purchased from. The obvious target audience for Lucozade would be sport players as the benefits of Lucozade Sport would help them compete in sport.
