3 point lighting
Key light- this is the most important light in a shot as it focuses on the subject. It can give a dramatic look to the subject through a shadow effect when it is placed at a certain angle. It has the effect of making the lighting in a shot more even.
Fill light- this light reduces the contrast of the subject, allowing them to appear much clearer to the camera. It helps to fill in the shadows created by the subject, making for a more even and appeasing looking background. It also ensures that the brightness of the scene is good so that the subject and the background are both clearly visible.
Hair light- a hair light is placed above the subject, creating a sharp and bright impact on the top part of the subject, usually a person's hair. This creates a focus on the face of the subject, allowing for them to display a range of emotions.
