This encourages creativity among the players and allows to escape the stresses of daily life by having the ability to make instead of destroy. Also, the multiplayer features allow for players to socialise with others and develop social skills and make new friendships. In addition to this, the ability to play different game modes ensures that the game does not become tedious in that there is only one possible mode to play, hence making it more attractive to a variety of gaming fanatics.

Advantages and disadvantages of Minecraft being owned by Microsoft

The fact that Microsoft spent $2.5 billion on buying Minecraft and its producer Mojang suggests that they have a clear intention to put a lot of funding into the game itself in order for it to make back the money it spent on buying it in the first place. This could mean the introduction of new game modes or world, there are so many possibilities for Microsoft to improve Minecraft which mean it is extremely exciting news for gamers. However, it might lead to less creativity within the game as Microsoft will want to ensure the producers stick to 'what works'.
