The 2016 Jungle Book was awarded a PG rating in comparison to the 1967 Jungle Book receiving a G rating due to the 2016 version having a more threatening and graphic tone in comparison to animated 1967 version. The improvements in digital technology have allowed for films to appear more realistic and therefore making their graphic scenes seem more real and hence be more treating, therefore demanding for modern remakes of animated films requiring a higher age rating.
